The 2008/2009 season begins with an operatic highlights concert with the Gateway Classical Music Society's orchestra with excerpts from NORMA and LA FAVORITA, a solo recital featuring arias which mark the world premiere of composer Denny Lin's opera PROJECT ESTHER. This summer Ms. Girardi sings her first complete role of AMNERIS in Central Park under the baton of Maestro Vincent LaSelva.
She made her professional debut as Mrs. Ott in Floyd’s Susannah at the Ash Lawn-Highland Summer Music Festival in VA, and has toured as the mother and grandmother in Barab’s Little Red Riding Hood with Mobile Opera.
Other career highlights for Ms. Girardi have included Preziosilla in La Forza del destino as her NYC debut, Maddalenna in Rigoletto, Meg Page in Falstaff, Emilia in Otello, Flora in La Traviata, a Carnegie Hall debut as Amneris in the triumphal scene of Aida, and a return engagement as Zuma in Alzira with New York Grand Opera, Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, La Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica with Crystal Opera Theatre (CT), Clarina in La Cambiale di Matrimonio with Garden State Opera, and the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas with the Sound Shore Chorale.
In oratorio, she has been the Alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Bronx Chorale Society, Verdi’s Requiem with the new York Chorale Society, the Sound Shore Chorale, and the Westchester Chorale, Mozart’s Requiem, Regina Coeli, Solemn Vespers, Alma-Dei-Creatoris, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, Haydn’s Harmoniemesse, Handel’s Utrect Jubilate, Chandos Anthem #11, and Bach’s St, Matthew’s passion with the Choristers of Upper Dublin (PA).
Her competition winnings include: the MacAllister Foundation Awards, Queen's Opera Competition, Young Patronesses of Opera/Florida Grand Competition, and first place national winner of the Bel Canto Opera Seminar.
