String Quartet for Hire

Category: Services
Description
Planning a wedding, reception, luncheon, or other event in the Colorado Springs or Denver areas? Say hello to the Mock-Up Studios String Quartet (MUSSQ)!

MUSSQ is actually a group of string players (violin, viola, cello, bass) who rent themselves out to the masses. That means you don’t have to hire the entire group for your function. You have your choice of ensembles, from a violin/cello duo to a trio featuring electric bass. Carrie even offers herself up as a vocal soloist for special songs and unity candle-lighting accompaniment.

The details are simple. To hire and plan is $50. For the actual event, pricing is $50/musician/hour. That means a string duo for a wedding ceremony is only $150! That price simply does not exist elsewhere.

Violin Teacher

Category: Music
Description
Learn classical violin piano, fiddling, or jazz violin from a professional! I can teach beginning, intermediate, and college-prep violin and basic piano. If you are a pianist who has played for more than 2 years, I can refer you.

My timeslots are exceedingly flexible and my pricing is the best anywhere. These private lessons are one 1/2 hour session(1 hour for advanced students), once a week. Payments of $50 are paid for 4 lessons ($12.50 each) at the beginning of each set.

My downtown location is just off the Bijou exit and my Briargate location is near Lexington and Research. Sorry, I don’t do “travel-teaching”: I can’t come to you.

You will need to provide your own instrument. If you are a new violin student, try renting one at any Graner or Meeker Music location for $15-$30/month. Make sure you have the right size. If you are a piano student, any keyboard will do. If you don’t have anything, try craigslist. Sometimes you can get a decent keyboard for as little as $15. Beginners don’t need the full 88 keys.

All ages over 4 are welcome! It’s never too late to try something new. Quite a few of my current students are adults. I can also give theory-only lessons for those of you who just want to learn how to read sheet music. Coaching for youth chamber groups is also available on request.
