Uechi-Ryu pronounced (way-chee roo) originally named pan-gai-noon, is a system derived from Sholin Buddhist Temples of Southern China.It emphasizes a combination of movements of the Tiger, Crane, and Dragon. As a specialized method of self-defense Uechi-Ryu concentrates on the use of the single-knuckle punch,spear-hand strike, pointed kick, and circular block. I study various styles of martial arts Karate, Aikido, Judo, Kobudo and Tai Chi. In karate he studied various styles:
Moo Duk Kwan (Korean), Shorin-Ryu (Okinawan), Shoto Kan (Japanese), and Uechi-Ryu (Chinese /Okinawan). In 1968 at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, Mr. Saddler began studying Uechi Ryu under George Krob, a renshi 6th Degree Black Belt in Uechi-Ryu Karate one of the first Americans to teach in Taiwan, China. In 1971 Mr. Saddler received Kyoshi (teacher, or certification as a black belt intructor in Uechi-Ryu Karate from Master Kanei Uechi, son of the founder Kanbun Uechi fromOkinawan, Japan. (registered number 478).
