Don Payne, a native Californian, was born in Kern County. He grew up, mainly, in the Southern California region.
Don worked 16+ years in the Entertainment Division at DISNEYLAND (Anaheim). A highlight during this period was when Don was selected to play the comic lead, "PECOS BILL," in the original GOLDEN HORSESHOE REVUE. He went on to be selected as the comic lead, "SAM THE BARTENDER" in the subsequent GOLDEN HORSESHOE JAMBOREE Show, which replaced the Revue show around 1986.
Don also often performed in the annual Christmas season event, "FANTASY ON PARADE." He was part of the supervisory staff for "AMERICA ON PARADE," Disneyland's spectacular for the Bicentennial year.
Another highlight involved Don's participation as a featured performer in a number of national entertainment tours which criss-crossed the country, sent out to promote upcoming area releases of classic Disney films via local media and live, stage appearances. During these live performances, Don provided the speaking and singing voicing for such diverse characters as "JIMINY CRICKET" (Pinocchio), PONGO and PERDITA (101 Dalmations) and many others.
After leaving Disney, Don functioned as Vice President in Charge of Production for a broad-spectrum entertainment production company, located in Newport Beach, CA.
He began his Real Estate practice around 1983 and has enjoyed a successful, broad-based career in that field.
Don has had direct experience as a Real Estate Salesperson and Broker, Managing Realtor, Actor/Performer (in live stage productions, film productions, television programming and television commercials), Comedian, Writer, Director, Radio Newscaster, Radio News Reporter, Radio Announcer, Radio Disc Jockey, Motivational Speaker, Trainer and Creative Consultant.
