Music was introduced to Alo at an early age. By the age of 5 he began to perform in his father's local band. Singing and playing various instruments expanded his interest in music. He developed an ear for musical cords and advanced rhythmic patterns. Growing up in the early 90’s he was inspired by groups such as Boyz II Men, Dru Hill, Jodeci, and Babyface. At age 14, he became apart of a quartet, I-land, which also included his brother and two cousins. Being the youngest in the group as a Sophomore in high school Alo need parental permission to continue to pursue his music career, causing him to drop out of high school. I-land auditioned for Showtime at the Apollo. Shortly after they signed with BMG International to tour Europe 1997-2000. In 1998, I-land reached gold status with benefit single for the refugees in the Kosovo Cold War. (note: I-land was the first American band to perform in Croatia after their Civil War) In 2000, I-land decided on a mutual break up on self terms. After returning to Missouri, Alo received his diploma and to this day he continues to produce his music while raising his family. Piecing his style and flavor of music to create: Music’s Key to Love, his first solo album. Alo’s songs reflects him best not only because he wrote them but because these songs are the birth of his heart’s ideas. It is his hope and dream to share his music with those who have the same love for music.
