Ingrid Forss began taking piano lessons at the age of 6. Encouraged by her parents, she also played the violin, viola, flute and organ. She studied with teachers such as Robin Freund-Epstein of Manhattan School of Music and Dr. Daniel J. Lau of Peabody Conservatory. She won a four year scholarship from the Reading Music Foundation and was also awarded a four year music scholarship from Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, MD where she began her studies as a Piano Performance major.
While attending Columbia Union College, she toured California with the New England Symphonic Ensemble as a piano soloist. Ingrid transferred to Walla Walla College in 1999 to pursue her music degree however, her interests expanded and she continued to pursue a social work major in hopes to combine the two fields and practice Music Therapy.
Currently employed by Forss Painting, Inc. full time in addition to being self-employed as a pianist, Ingrid has performed at the Stone Harbor Golf Club, Stone Harbor, NJ, the Golden Inn, Avalon, NJ, the Stone Harbor Yacht Club, Stone Harbor, NJ, and Flanders Hotel, Ocean City, NJ. She also accompanies the Woodbury SDA Church Adult and Children's Choir in Woodbury, NJ. Ingrid has also traveled with classical vocal trio, Bella Voce. In 2006, Ingrid was instrumental in creating the charitable annual Family Aid Fund Benefit Concert at the Parkway South SDA Church in Marmora, NJ, where she enjoys performing with her colleague and close friend, Karla Rivera. Ingrid also plays for special events such as weddings and private parties.
Currently pursuing Professional Certification in Piano Pedagogy from Westminster Conservatory of Music in Princeton, NJ, Ingrid has opened up a private studio for teaching piano lessons and looks forward to building up her student base.
