Born in the Ukraine, I came to United States in 1989. With a background in Graphic Art and Illustration, I've learned photography from my father, an extremely gifted amateur photographer. I started my career as a professional photographer in state of Rhode Island by working for small photo studio as a school photographer traveling all over R.I. south eastern MA, and parts of CT, photographing literally thousands of children from pre-K to high school, doing their portraits and documenting activities from sporting events to proms and graduations, which allowed me to get to know people aspect of this seemingly technical profession. In a mean while I was building business of my owen doing commercial work for decoration and jewelry manufacturers like Tahoe Jewelry and Swarowski. When Greater Providence Chamber Of Commerce, Brown University and Bryant University ( PR, Portraits and special event coverage) were added to lists of my accounts I started to work for myself exclusively.
Since I moved to New York I've done family and children portraits, head shots and portfolios for number of private clients as well as special events from fashion shows to weddings and art shows, done still photography for TV commercials and sitcom pilot, interior architecture for designer Diane Boyer - ASID and "Hunterdon Life" publication, covered "eats & drinks" section for New York Press.
I use journalistic approach to cover any event, I often take short series of shots to tell a story or convey the mood of a given moment. I have learned to read people and their behavior, reluctant to use continuous shooting, I study and observe subject to reveal character, than anticipate and shoot, I can miss, but I always know what I am aiming for. My portrait sessions take place in person own environment, and often require some time to make subject feel comfortable with me and camera,
my images are live and dynamic that's why my photography is unique and very personal.
