Heather Preston-Weeks ACSM-cPT
Heather has been in the fitness industry since 1994, beginning her journey on the US territory of Guam, where she first became certified as a trainer so that she could teach water aerobics for the Navy bases. Upon returning to the states in 1996, Heather worked for a local fitness club teaching water aerobics, swimming lesions, doing personal training, and eventually became the fitness director until her departure in 1998. She then began working as an independent personal trainer and fitness educator going under the business name of Homebodies Personal Training, at which time Heather gave many lectures and classes for various groups and public forums in the community. At that same time, she was also obtaining credits in senior fitness, advanced nutrition, and adolescent training, and also entered collage at UMA.
Since that time, Heather continues her fitness education by attending lectures regularly, and currently holds certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a certified Personal Trainer, ACE, as a group fitness instructor, AFAA, as a personal trainer/fitness counselor, Speedo, as a water aerobics instructor, and API as a personal trainer and water aerobics instructor trainer.
Heather’s personal training philosophy is that of the average person, who lives the common, often hectic, lifestyle of the 21st century. She feels that fitness and nutrition goals need to be kept simple and easy to follow. Heather caters to the person who is just beginning an exercise program or returning to it, and wants real-world advice and motivation that will keep them going for the long-haul, to make lifetime changes.
