I have a law degree, JD, from George Washington University, a Master of Science degree in pastoral counseling, and am a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor. I have personal and professional experience to aid me in helping individuals and their families with alcohol and other drug problems. I am in recovery myself, with 31 years of continuous sobriety, and have been working in the drug and alcohol field for 29 years. I am a member of the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors of Maryland http://www.lcpcm.org.
I have been Director of the alcohol and drug education and support services department at a private university in the mid-Atlantic region for 19 years. I direct the college’s licensed outpatient treatment program, providing treatment, education, individual and group counseling to individuals with drug or alcohol abuse or dependence. I also teache both undergraduate and graduate courses in substance abuse for the university’s Psychology Department.
I offer, as a private endeavor, online addictions help and counseling. In this cyber age, online services can be a helpful supportive addition to traditional face-to-face counseling. I have developed a website that provides free addiction recovery information, and for a reasonable fee, counseling and support services for addicts and alcoholics, and family members. Services include daily tips for recovering addicts and alcoholics and for those affected by addiction (family and significant others). and same day answers to questions about addiction. Services are provided by Email or telephone (443-610-3569). The site also offers daily support for persons new to recovery, a recovery coach or mentor. The site address is: http://www.alcoholdrugsos.com.
