Bio
I grew up outside of a small logging town in Oregon with the Willamette River behind our house which was rich with wildlife. My father worked for the U.S. Forest Service and was an outdoorsman. My family would go up in the woods looking for wildlife to watch and listen for. I played in the woods and we had what can be called 'Children's Trails' in our small neighborhood. Around 2000 I during an Art of Mentoring through Wilderness Awareness School, a founder of W.A.S. and the first student of Tom Brown Jr., Jon Young, spoke of going home to where he grew up and even though much of the forest area was still there today from when he was a child, the Children's Trails no longer existed, even thought children still lived in the area. I went back to where I grew up and found the same thing. This brought tears to my eyes.

Dad would take me to work with him and we would just walk through the forests with no trail. I really didn't know about trail hiking until I moved to Eugene in the late 80's. I felt it odd that humans would walk through the woods on a trail. I had always played in the woods since the age of four up through highschool. In the mid 90's after some dreams led me back to focusing on my nature I then realized that I didn't know very much about plants and trees and their uses to humans. After reading the book 'The Tracker' by Tom Brown Jr., and stating intention of learning about nature, the universe conspired to help me in my quest. I have much to learn and much to do to help this beautiful planet we live on and for all that are still living here now and in the generations to come.

My heroes include my family, Mother Theresa, Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Bhudda, Jesus, St. Francis, Chief Joseph, Mogley from 'The Jungle Book', Tarzan, Crazy Horse, White Buffalo Calf Woman, Grandfather Stalking Wolf, Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Master Po (from the old series 'Kung Fu', the Irwin family, and others.
