My name is Ralph Jones and as of 16 April of 2008, I celebrated 60 years in woodworking and am still in business working in my shop building furniture, cabinets, repairing furniture as well as refurbishing the same.
I am only 73 years in age and the reason I have as much time as a woodworker is because on my 13th birthday, I started serving my apprenticeship under my grand father as we are Welsh and it was the tradition.

I worked in the Carpenters union for 17 years and taught the apprenticeship program for five years, then went to teaching Vocational Carpentry at Tolles Technical Institute and from there I taught Vocational Carpentry to inmates at the Madison Correctional Institution for a total of 16 formal years of teaching. I now write for WOOD Magazine on WOOD ON LINE writing the WOOD MAGAZINE QUIZZES on the General Wood working Forum and the MIND BENDERS on the Home Improvements forum. I am also the host for the Arts and Crafts Furniture forum.

I also am one of the Master Administrative Group for the Arts and Crafts Society

Should any one have a woodworking question or need help please feel free to contact me via my email address.

I am not looking for any skills
however I will teach.
Work Experience:
I have trained three apprentices in my humble little shopand they are all three working at the trade today. The apprentice I have now is not going anywhere as he has provewn to me that he has the same traits I do myself, he is a good problem solver as well as almost knowing what I want even before I ask him. He has displayed suppurb work ethics.

I know that this was supossed to be about me but, i have already told you about me so now I get to brag about Andrew Hastings who if I have my way will inherit my business when I can no longer do it.
I received my GED at the age of 47 years of age an my BA in Teaching at the ripe old age of 57 from Ohio State University.
Organizations / Affilations:
