Travis Burt

Bio
I was born in Ogden, UT and grew up in both Utah and Vermont. Gaining a better perspective on the world spending my winters in UT with my mother and summers with my dad in VT. I spent allot of time in the mountains, learning to ski when I was five and loving it. I also enjoyed hiking through the mountains on both coast. I was still somewhat of a nerd, playing with my computer and my friends at role playing games.

After graduating from high school, I decided to go to the Utah School of Massage Therapy. In school I specialized in Deep Tissue Massage, Russian Sports Massage and Cranial-Sacral Therapy while picking up other modes of massage as well. After graduating from massage therapy school I worked in destination spas, gyms, resorts, chiropractors offices and out-call massage. Constantly learning, I refined my massage techniques to become the massage therapist I am today.

These three modalities, Deep Tissue Massage, Russian Sports Massage and Cranial-Sacral Therapy called to me and I have always practiced them since. I also found Tai Chi Chaun while I was at massage school and have practiced Tai Chi with four different teachers in the past 14 years, finally coming to teach Tai Chi in an effort to help teach my clients how to heal themselves and increase the effects of my massage.

I currently work in LA as an out-call massage therapist and have a space for on-site massage at Forme Salon in Santa Monica.

Description
Swedish Massage:A flowing massage, while it can be firm it is generally a lighter massage. A
Swedish massage is focused on long connecting strokes, bringing relaxation through flowing
strokes and gentle pressure.

Russian Sports massage:My most popular massage, this is a medium pressure massage that you
will feel today but not tomorrow. Lots of rocking, pumping, and flushing of the muscles along
with some trigger point, cross fiber massage and stretching make for a great massage that takes
about an hour and a half for a full body massage. This is also the technique I use to warm up the
body for deep tissue.

Deep Tissue:More specific, a full body deep tissue is a three hour massage, an hour and a half
would focus on the back, neck and shoulders or legs, pelvis and neck. Deep tissue should always
be to the depth you can breath through, if you find yourself holding your breath and/or clenching
up anywhere you should ask for less pressure while still trying to ride the pleasure/pain line. I
have two styles, the pulverizer: Similar to Tragger therapy and much like Russian Sports this
massage, just more specific, deeper, focusing on bone placement, joint movement and some
rolfing type strokes for muscle lengthening. This massage incorporates all of my massage
techniques and is a more popular deep tissue as it is not as painful while still giving deep tissue
results. The second type is for the true deep tissue fan, similar to rolfing, with lots of long deep
elbow strokes this massage can not be hurried(I have seen some strokes take up to twenty
minutes for one pass), and must be aloud to progress as the client is able to relax. I have spent as
much as two hours just on the back with this massage.

Cranial-Sacral Therapy/Reiki Energy Massage:This technique involves assessing the cranial
system, the third pulse of the body, and balancing the flow of energy. The cranial system is made
up of the skull, spine, sacrum, duramater(connective tissue that e
