Gary Schouborg, PhD

Bio
Gary taught philosophical psychology at Loyola University of Los Angeles in the 1960's and at the University of Texas at Austin in the 1970's. While in Austin, he also did psychological testing and life coaching. In the 1980's he was a Telecommunications Consultant in Pacific Bell and AT&T marketing departments, where he also had sales management and training responsibilities; he was later Senior Training Consultant in corporate education. From 1989 to 2008, he was a founding partner of Performance Consulting, specializing in individual and organizational development.

He is the author of FLEX: A Flexible Tool for Continuously Improving Your Evaluation of Training Effectiveness (HRD Press, 1992). He is co-author of The Quality Managing & Planning Tools (HRD Press, 1994) and The Basic Quality Improvement Tools (HRD Press, 1994). He has also published poetry as well as articles in philosophy and religious studies.

Gary's academic credentials include a B.S. in Mathematics from Loyola Marymount U. (1958), an M.A. in Philosophy from Saint Louis U. (1964), an S.T.M. in Religious Studies from Santa Clara U. (1969), and a Ph.D. in Philosophical Psychology from the U. of Texas in Austin (1978).

He is a member of the American Philosophical Association, the American Psychological Association, and the Association for Psychological Science. He is certified by The TRACOM Group to provide Social Style training.

The common thread throughout his varied career has been applying various conceptual systems — philosophical, religious, and behavioral — to individual and organizational development.
