Bio
Andrew Michler currently lives with his wife, Jennie, off the grid in Masonville, CO. In 1994 he began to design, engineer, and build a 1000 sq. ft. near-zero energy home and a 500 sq. ft. shop.
Andrew majored in visual arts at Humboldt State University in California and loved the sciences. He then took a year off to help his father renovate a home after the Oakland hills fire. When he came to Colorado in 1993, he immediately recognized the potential of living a holistic life. After a stint installing HVAC, he worked for a HVAC wholesaler. In 1996, yearning for more experience in building, he started to design and build independently. This provided him many opportunities to learn about new products, techniques and technologies that have advanced in recent years. In 2007 he founded Baosol Sustainable Building Consulting as a way to further the art of sustainable building.
