I fully restore antique furniture that I add artwork to or as I like to say I "Artify" the furniture. The style of artwork ranges from paint and stained geometric patterns, landscapes (ocean beach, palms and sunset/sunrise scenes). I accent with metal buttons, brass and copper wire, reed caning, etc. All pieces are unique and one of a kind.
Media: Acrylics, pencil, oil, latex, wood stain, wire/metal, wood carvings, reed caning, fabric/upholstering, etc.
I’ve always had some level of interest in drawing and painting throughout my early education and did some oil painting in the seventies but never had nor pursued formal training. After selling my engineering software business a couple of years ago I retired (somewhat) and took art classes at the Memorial Art Gallery in order to identify where my artistic strengths and interests were. I also enjoy refinishing old furniture and thought I would try combining the two. I have always been creative in any endeavor that involved designing. I have gained great inspiration from my travels to the Van Gogh, Norman Rockwell, and other galleries. I now have more incentive to create my own styles of art without limiting myself to a particular style, media or object. I still have the drive I did while running my business and will channel those business skills into marketing and selling my own works.
Prior to founding The Wentworth Collection Furnishings I founded and was president of my own engineering software sales & service reseller business, Axis Technologies, for 21 years.
