In a media world saturated with hyper-polished computer graphics and over-the-top CGI, a return to the healthy roots of illustration often proves to be a welcome respite for the eye and mind. Whether its the star-like specks of flying white in a watercolor, the staggering intricacy of technical line work or the raised colors of an oil painting, the touch of a human hand brings viewers in close to the work and its subject.
I graduated recently from the University of Oregon's art department, where I touched, smelled, lived, and breathed the tools and history of traditional art. While at school, I studied everything from jewelry-working to plaster casting to oil painting in an effort to find new insight to apply to my illustrational work. I enjoy rich colors and bold lines, and I love bringing life to the subjects I illustrate, even the inanimate ones. My style varies from project to project, and I have worked with many subjects including the abstract, scientific line work, cartoons, landscapes, portraits, and much more.
The media I work in includes digital, ink, watercolor, pencil, charcoal, oil paint, acrylic paint, and (some) sculpture. I do limited amounts of web design, as well.
