Bobby Smith was raised along with his three siblings in the surrounding areas of Newark, New Jersey. A product of Jamaican heritage and an American educational system, combating adversity while striving to develop upon his commitment to self-empowerment and education.
Mr. Smith serves as a testament to the disadvantaged youth that success can be obtained by anyone willing to take the necessary steps.

++Athletic Overview: Bobby was introduced to fencing in his early teen years while attending St. Benedict’s Preparatory in Newark, N.J. Later he was accepted to the Peter Westbrook Foundation, providing him the opportunity to receive Olympic caliber coaching in New York City and compete across the country. Bobby was recruited by Wayne State University with a full athletic scholarship. While leading the Men’s Fencing Team, Wayne State University finished Top 10 in the country year after year. During his freshman year, Bobby place Top 25 in the NCAA.

++Professional Overview: Bobby currently serves as the Vice President of the Board to the Renaissance Fencing Club, which has a history in Michigan of providing quality fencing instruction for over 10 years. He also facilitates group and private lessons for various youth. Bobby coached under internationally renowned Head Coach, Jersey Radz, as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for Wayne State University’s Fencing Team. During which time he facilitates hundreds of private lessons and high level NCAA training programs.
