Cory Boyas is a director/choreographer/master teacher currently living in Sarasota, Florida. His work takes a clever twist on the expected, combining simple concepts and layering them with innovative twists to engage both the audience and the performers alike.
Mr. Boyas has worked extensively in New York City, choreographing the Off-Broadway smash hit Rock-A-My-Soul, and teaching at both Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. He went on to serve as dance captain in the Broadway production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and was invited to teach for a year at the prestigious Balletschülle Theatergassen in Bamberg, Germany. Mr. Boyas also re-created the original Bob Fosse choreography for the 1996 National Tour of Sweet Charity.
Mr. Boyas also has extensive performing experience, performing on stages throughout Europe and the United States. Performances include 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, George M!, Crazy For You, Forever Plaid, Joseph...Dreamcoat, Phantom, The Bald Princess, Little Shop of Horrors, 1776, and many more.
Mr. Boyas currently serves on the board for the Sarasota Arts Education Task Force, committed to enhancing the public education system through the arts.
