Certified Infant Massage Teacher Trainer

Category: Education
The Liddle Kidz™ Foundation Infant Massage certification course is for those interested in becoming a Certified Infant Massage Teacher (CIMT). A CIMT is an educator who teaches the art of infant massage to parents or caregivers in the presence of their babies. Certification qualifies the student to demonstrate knowledge and skill in guiding parents and caregivers in the practical application of infant massage.

During the Certified Infant Massage Teacher Training students will learn about the history and global use of infant massage as a parenting practice, infant massage techniques and methodology, benefits for both infants and caregivers, current research and the importance of communication and attachment in building healthy emotional relationships. Students will learn creative techniques for setting up and marketing successful infant massage classes, and how to best reach parents/caregivers.

We will also discuss working with babies born prematurely and infants with special healthcare needs.

Participants do not have to be massage therapists or have any experience in the healthcare field to take this course. This is not a hands-on-baby course. Trainers, Teachers & Students use baby dolls to practice & demonstrate strokes.

Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist Trainer

Category: Education
The Liddle Kidz™ Foundation Pediatric Massage Certification course is for those interested in becoming a Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist (CPMT). A CPMT is a massage therapist, or other health care professional, who has received specific advanced training to enhance their skills in providing pediatric massage therapy. During this course, the healthcare professional receives specific advanced training to adapt massage and touch therapy for pediatric clients, including children with special health care needs, children who are hospitalized or have been diagnosed with a terminal illness in hospice care.

A CPMT will acquire the knowledge of various massage techniques for working with children with varied physical, developmental, emotional and mental challenges and has practiced these skills during hands-on in class sessions. During the course we will review the many benefits and importance of individualized adaptations, including cultural considerations, for using massage therapy with children.

Additionally, during the CPMT course, we review respectful approach, meeting children at their level and respect for their personal space. We also cover respectful, mindful considerations, unique communication skills to expand interaction and how to engage children during massage sessions.

Due to the sensitive nature of providing massage therapy for children in healthcare settings, CPMT’s will be taught the great importance of professional boundaries, safety guidelines, infection control and patient privacy.

Participants in this course must be certified and/or licensed to touch prior to attending. This course is not a stand-alone certification to provide touch therapy for pediatric clients.
