Description
After her first Belly Dance Class in Pullman, WA in 1989, she was hooked. Even after subtracting the years when she didn’t have the time or money to take lessons (or her 30-something body was rebelling against being pregnant), Jahanara has taken classes and workshops from various instructors for over twelve years, including Aziz, Sidonia Om Dunia, Margo Abdo O’dell, Oreet, Nejwah, Samira Il Naia, Freyja and others. Jahanara started performing in 1995. After the birth of her second child, she taught a fitness Belly Dance Class at a Boise, Idaho gym for one year, enabling her to shed those last baby pounds, plus two more! Her instructional style is such that both beginners and more advanced students can work together at their own levels, and she is able to work individually with students to improve their form during class, without stopping the momentum of the class. She is currently teaching classes through the Meridian, Idaho Parks and Recreation Program.

Jenifer, a straight-A student in elementary and secondary school, started taking college-level French in high school, because it was not offered at her school. She was a college tutor for almost 3 years at the University of Idaho and a high school English Teacher for five years in Caldwell, Idaho. She enjoys helping people learn new strategies for learning and test-taking, and seeing the light of understanding go off behind their eyes.

In high school, Jenifer wrote articles for the local newspaper, The Power County Press. As an aide for an English Teacher, she was allowed to grade writing and offer feedback. In college, she obtained a B.A. in English with certification in secondary English and French Education. Her blogs on her dance website are much in demand, having been linked to from other websites, and one having been published in Jareeda Magazine.
