Bio

Well, I am currently a student at Northeastern Illinois University. I am a junior even though I have been attending for the past five years. I am majoring in Women's Studies and minoring in Sociology. Before I found Women's Studies I was majoring in English and minoring in Anthropology. That's what is taking to long :).
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved to read and write. I read about five books at a time. I also really enjoy reading plays as opposed to watching them.
My life goal is to one day own my own publishing house. How will I do that with a Women's Studies degree? Why not English? Well, with English, I was bored to tears. Women's Studies lecturs actully keep me awake and very interested. Also, the Women's Studies has trained me to become a very critical thinker. With Women's Studies, we disect everything that we come across. We look at it from all possible angles (most notably advertisments).

As you can see I love to read. Mainly in the area of Spirituality, Theology, novels, plays, and non-fiction. I also love autobiographys. I love to bike ride and swim, be with my friends and family. All I can watch movie and tv wise are comedy's. Nothing else is worth watching.

Work Experience:
I have done quite a bit. I believe it was two summers ago that I volunteered at my local library for an adult litercy program. There are about five adults out there right now who have the ability to read because of me. I'm very proud of that.
I had my son when I was 18 and still in high school. I managed to graduate on time with my class. Now I am going to school part time and working retail full time. Balancing it all has been a juggling act that I am more than happy to do.

Education:
Sometime next year I will have my Women's Studies degree. However, I have been studying all of my life. My education back ground is a little bit of everything.

Organizations / Affilations:
FMLA (Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance), SAW (Students Against the War), Sierra Club, and Book Club.
