I have used Revit to produce construction document sets for the past 7 years, and have 5 years prior experience using Autodesk Mechanical Desktop and Inventor to make parametric 3D models and fabrication drawings complete with bills of material. I am a productive AutoCAD draftsman, and am very fast at converting Revit drawings to AutoCAD, using filters to select objects to modify, and apply properties and styles to.
I have substantial experience in structural, architectural and building component drafting and design ranging from residential and multi-family wood construction and CMU and concrete construction with precast beams, to multi-level concrete and steel construction up to 40 floors.
I have devised a way to use Revit schedules to make structured bills of materials for parts in an assembly, and components in a building model, which I have used in production for a year and a half. I have developed a library of over 2,000 construction related 3D Revit families, many which are parametric, are set up for rendering, and include BIM parameters. I have over 80 customers who pay for the rights to use these symbols.
I have always tried to use a forward thinking approach to this work that involves automated data management, such as using Excel logical functions in spreadsheets to make Revit type catalog files, or extract information from drawing file names to record revision level or job / item number. I am seeking a job with a company which employs the same sorts of strategies that I use instead of doing everything manually.
